Based on the costs that Quiznos imposes on you. Zero.

The Quiznos Franchise System cannot, and does not, support successful
multi-unit ownership. This is the first big clue to your need to run
from this corporation. They screw their franchisees first, by lying to
them about the average Food and Labor costs. Then the corporation sets
the price for absolutely everything the franchisees must buy, from food,
paper, equipment, furnishings, smallwares, etc., to mandated services
such as bookkeeping, payroll, credit card processing, muzak, etc., etc.
The prices they set are very significantly above the prices they negotiate
under contract for. Sixty percent (60%) of Quiznos Franchisees are said to
do no better than break even. Most lose money. They lose money only because
the franchisor controls all material and service costs to the franchisee.
Run from this system. Don’t even consider it.

Quiznos is worst….they do not support the owners……. they are chicken when it comes to enforce litigation……… we have dealt with them and it was awefull experience……we are glad to be out of it now…… they promise but don’t deliver and force you to do things which they are spouse to do……… their inspections suck……. only to deduct points so u look bad on the audit and they don’t have to pay you……………..

May I say they claimed 60% increase in profits, yet the profits have gone down due to their charging an additional 1% for advertising and now they are tied with Subway for franchise fees and advertising and it is 12% of everything you earn, which is greater than 95 % of the stores make. Introcuction of specials that they say are to compete with Subway have a food cost of 35% to 45%, which leaves no profit for any store for those products
profits have diminsished to the point of minimum wage if you work many hours i the store.

This franchisee recently closed one store and will soon be forced to close another. The reason is a total lack of profit. Q corporate has taken over $200,000.00 in royalties and advertising from my bank accounts while I struggle to pay my bills. My advertising dollars have been totally wasted. Where did the dollars go? Certainly not into TV ads. Subway ads are on 24/7. Where are the Quiznos ads? Former CEO Brenneman promised an extra $15,000.00 in FO profits last year and another $15,000.00 this year. Where is it? I pumped in $12,000.00 of personal funds last year and another $14,000.00 this year. Enough is enough, I can no longer afford to operate a Quiznos Sub. I just hope the class action lawsuits will come to trial and Quiznos will finally be exposed for what it does to all the FO’s.

  7. I have heard similar stories from sellers in CA, some of whom decided to close their stores. Not sure how wise that was considering the fact that you are still on the lease-shouldn’t you sell for what you can get, even $50k??

So now they are going after International markets……having wreaked havoc in the US with franchisee debris….

Is this about David taking on Goliath(Subway)?

I have recently decided to close my Quiznos store located in Ohio.
We are selling a sub for a 1$ when you buy another sub at full price. Its radiculous when there is no advertising for this promotion.
Owners are losing their asses, and most of them dont even know it.
To operate a Quiznos you must be prepared to pay quiznos to open, and then pay quiznos from your savings to stay open.
    Its a corrupt franchise system.

RUN AWAY FROM QUIZNOS< AGAIN IT IS A CORRUPT BACKWARDS SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We just closed our Quiznos after two years of business. In that whole time we had ONE month of profit! We bought the franchise and store for $135,000.00. We added another $50,000.00 to keep it going with not one month of taking any money home! Quiznos does not support the good franchisees and, because of this, they go out of business and then Quiznos moves in and sells the franchise for $4,000.00 to $8,000.00! My Quiznos rep. complained about one franchisee owner who has no idea what he is doing, and yet they allowed him to buy two more franchise for below $5,000.00!

They do awful promotions, and change their menu much too often, and then they don’t do any television advertising – they have no identity (although people do remember those awful “Sponge Monkeys” that everyone thinks were rats). Subway has Jared, Burger King has the ‘creepy’ King, McDonalds is Mickey Ds and has Ronald, Jack in the Box has Jack – but Quiznos has a toaster that tells the employee to “Put it in me.” Wow! That will bring them in.

Here’s a piece of brilliant marketing – they introduced the 13″ ‘Torpedo’ (which indeed is smaller than the one on TV) and they sell it for $4.00. It isn’t that great, but it sells. They then introduce the 6″ ‘Bullet,’ which is $3.00! Now if you think about it, why not order the ‘Torpedo,’ for $4.00 and have it cut in half? It’s the same sandwich – a tad bit larger and it’s only $1.00 more instead of buying 2 ‘Bullets’ for $6.00! That’s the thinking from Corporate. There’s more little things you can do to same money there, but that’s for another time.

The Biggest thing is that they don’t have any area protection. They just allowed a new Quiznos to open not far from me and next to a hospital that was a large part of my business. That’s when I said “That’s It.” They have a good product, but no support from the Corporation nor any communication – You’d swear they were run by our government – so where is my bail-out? They are now simply making money off the franchise fees by getting more franchisees out there at a low franchise purchase price. Get them in there for $4,000.00 and then slam them with monthly franchise fees and they also get kick-backs from the food distributors.

Is Quiznos a scam? You bet! But I still believe the food is good – just make sure that when you order Black Angus, you’re getting Black Angus and not Roast Beef! Also, watch the weights to make sure you’re getting the right portions. Oh, there’s so much I could tell you!

DO NOT EVER EVEN THINK ABOUT OPENING A QUIZNOS -I’ll be suprised if they are around in two years.
