I was never sure why franchisees are often looked at as “entrepreneurs”. There is only so much a franchisee can do typically to drum up business and stay within the franchisor’s operating guidelines.
If a franchisee is clever, there is an inexaustible amount of entrepreneurship resources for running a business that is within the franchisors operating guidelines. And this can separate the successful from the unsuccessful operators.
