Ryan is an attorney in a medium-sized law firm practice with a practice focused on the areas of structured financing, private investment funds, securities offerings, mergers & acquisitions (including leveraged buyouts), and intellectual property transactions and licensing.
He previously was employed by a private investment firm where he dealt primarily with securities and private investment offerings, technology and investor issues. He has a legal, valuation and business development background, and has been working in early stage businesses for most of the past decade. Ryan has been a founding member of several small business, one of which, a tech-startup providing software to newspaper and broadcast companies, received substantial private equity funding in 1999.
Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Miami University, a Juris Doctor from #19 ranked Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, and a Masters of Science in Finance from DePaul University. He has been a finalist in several major entrepreneurship competitions.

Prior to Super Coups Jim successfully marketed franchises in the New England area for Uniglobe Travel Northeast a travel franchise, Merry Maids a maid cleaning franchise, & Emack & Bolio an Ice Cream franchise.
Jim was the host of a popular radio show in the Boston Area called “Let’s Talk Franchising” that was broadcast on AM 1060 WBIX Boston Business Station. Jim is the author of a blog on franchising called: Let’s Talk Franchising and can be read on the Franchise Pundit as well as BlueMauMau.
Jim is the Executive Director of the New England Franchise Association (NEFA).
